AS Roma vs Inter Milan

by Larry Uriri on Serie A

This weekend in the Serie A, Inter travels to the capital to face AS Roma with the ambition of getting their first win against Roma as they have failed to  do so in their last 6 Serie A meetings.

ROMA V INTER

Roma on the other hand, go into fixture filled with confidence; having won the first leg 3-0 at the San Siro back in October last year.

Current form

Roma have had a fine run in the 2nd half of the 2013-14 season. Although placed 2nd with 57 points (9 points behind 1st placed and current champions Juventus), Roma have gone unbeaten playing at Home this season; making their tally: 10-W, 2-D, 0-L from 12 competitive Serie A games. Looking back at their last 6 games (home & away), Roma’s form guide reads: 5-W, 1-D and have scored a total 14 goals (an average 2.33 goals per game) and conceded just 2. Making them not only one of the best attacking sides but also well disciplined defensively.

Inter who started the 2nd half of the season with a 1-0 loss to Lazio back in January have somehow managed to pull themselves up to the 5th spot with 40 points from 25 games and if they keep at it, they might just end up securing their place for European competition next season. To add to their portfolio of good fortune, Inter have gone unbeaten in their last 3 games: 2-W, 1-D and with the famous 2-1 away win over 4th placed Fiorentina, Inter might just have the confidence they need to cause an upset when they visit the capital this weekend.
