Manchester City vs Tottenham

by Caroline on Premier League

After a two week break the Premier League comes back with a hit. This weekend, on Saturday at 12:45 BST, Manchester City will host Tottenham. It is expected to be one of the most interesting clashes of this round as Manchester City, with 14 points, takes the second place in the table while Tottenham takes the sixth with 11 points.

Head-to-head stats make it clear…

City won 5 of the last 6 games against Lilywhites and scored 11 goals in the last two games. Their opponents scored only 1. The difference in total amount of goals in the last 7 games, City 22 – 8 Tottenham, shows the potential winner the game.

The Champions started the season very well until the surprising loss from Stoke at home. Tottenham, on the other hand, show poor performance in their last games. The Spurs won their last Premier League game against Southampton 1 – 0. Considering the Saints have the best defence in the league, having conceded only 5 goals so far, it was a good win.

…but current results are not so obvious

Tottenham are unbeaten in their three away games this season, drawing two and winning one. Surprisingly, Manchester City experience difficulties at home – they have won just one of their three games at the Etihad, gaining only four of a possible nine points.
