Juventus vs Torino

by Colin on Serie A

This Sunday, 30th of November, the Italian Serie A is going to offer one more derby between the local rivals of Juventus and Torino. This will be the 15th Turin derby since 1999 (only Serie A) between these teams. The game comes as a part of the 13th round of the Italian football league.

Torino derby

Juventus will host their neighbours from Torino at their Juventus Stadium. The symbolical hosts will go into this game as leaders in Serie A and their away win against Malmo got them even closer for qualifying the knockout stages of the Champions League for next year. The team is just one game away from winning all their games in the month of November. Their perfect record in the Turin derby make things look even brighter for them. Juventus has won 10 out of their 14 games against The Bulls and the other 4 games are draws. Actually the last time when Juve conceded a goal from Torino was in the far 2002. Massimiliano Allegri’s team will want to win this game not only because of the records and the statistics, but new 3 points will mean that they will have the chance to take even bigger advantage in front of the second in the table Roma. On Stadio Olympico later in Sunday the Romans will host the reborn Inter after the returning of Roberto Mancini as their manager.

Away team will struggle?

On the other side Torino is struggling and it takes the 15th position after losing its previous two games. The team has also managed to score only 7 goals, which makes their attack, the second worst in the league. Interesting fact is that the Giampiero Ventura’s team were unable to score even from penalty kick after missing their last three kicks from the white spot. The team will need something really special against Juventus, while they possess the best defence in the Italy’s top flight after conceding only 4 goals so far in the season.
Torino also played in Europa League Thursday night at home against the Belgium side Club Brugge. The team has returned on the European football scene after a long absence. Torino finished 0-0 against their Belgium opponents and 1 game before the closing games in the UEFA Europa League the team takes the second position in the group with 8 points, while has almost secured their place in the next stage.

Fabio Quagliarella comes back

The former Juventus players Amauri and Fabio Quagliarella will have to face their old club. This will be a perfect chance for them and Torino as a club to show their class and to go back on the winning way,
„Derby della Mole” has been always very exciting. These two teams, Juventus and Torino can be very proud of their history and rivalry. Without matter that Juventus took advantage in the last decade over its opponent, it doesn’t mean that this will take any of the shine of this great derby.
