El Clasico: Barcelona vs Real Madrid

by Larry Uriri on La Liga

Following the 1-1 first leg draw at Santiago Bernabeu, Jose Mourinho and his team will travel to Camp  Nou to face arch rivals FC Barcelona for the 2nd leg semi-final game (Copa Del Rey). Football lovers across the globe will be looking forward to this mouth watering encounter.

El Classico Barcelona v Real Madrid

Going into this fixture, Barcelona leads Madrid with 15 points in the Primera Liga table, and anything short of a victory tomorrow will see Madrid loose another possible title to FC Barcelona. Both teams face each other for the 2nd time this year, and it is only fair to say that this might be a Ronaldo v Messi encounter following both players form, Messi has scored a record 17 goals in 23 Classico appearances, and C.Ronaldo on the other hand has 7 goals to his name in his last 7 games against Barcelona.

Current form

Playing at home, Barcelona  has played 11 Laliga games and have won 10, drawn 1, and lost none. Playing away, Madrid has won 5, drawn 2, lost 5 out of 12 games.  Taking into consideration both teams performances in their last 5 games (all competitions), one might say this might be a pretty even contest as they have both shared 3-W, 1-D, 1-L respectively.
