Chelsea vs West Ham
by Colin on Premier League
It’s Christmas time, but the English Premier League never takes a rest! This Friday Chelsea will be host of West Ham United in one of the London derbies at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea played on Monday and have won their visit of Stoke City with 0-2 after John Terry and Cesc Fabregas goals. The team kept three points advantage on the top of the Premier League with 42 points ahead of the second Manchester City with 39 points. Excluding the game at Newcastle lost by 2-1 from Chelsea, which appeared to be the first for the season in the league, the Blues did a great job in the past month while qualifying for the Champions League knockout stage. They will face the French side Paris-Saint Germain in the games which will be played in February and March. Bad news for Jose Mourinho can turn to be the injury of Eden Hazard. The Belgian was injured at Britannia Stadium just 15 minutes before the final whistle. Hazard has been one of the best players in the team since he arrived from OSC Lille in 2012.
2014/2015 Black Horse?
West Ham United is one of the surprises this season in the Premier League. The team is in the Champions League zone and currently taking the fourth place with 31 points. It seems that Sam Allardyce finally collected the right players this year. The former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song came on loan from Barcelona, the right back Jenkinson from Arsenal cam on loan, Diafra Sakho who is one of the best for The Hammers was transferred from Metz. Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll remind of their self after a bad period at Liverpool as well.
Chelsea has a strong season
Last year the result of the game between these sides at Stamford Bridge was 0-0 and Chelsea was the team who had to be happy with the point, after WHU wasted plenty of chances to take the three points. The statistics shows 45 wins for Chelsea, 37 for West Ham and 19 draws. The last win of The Hammers at Stamford Bridge comes from 28/09/2002.
