Chelsea vs Tottenham

by Larry Uriri on Premier League

With the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City missing in action this weekend in game week 29 of the Barcalys Premier League, Chelsea are grace with an opportunity to extend their lead to 7 points against Arsenal and 9 against Man City.

Tim Sherwood’s Spurs side will visit Stamford Bridge this Saturday to face a Chelsea side which they have failed to beat at HOME in their last 25 visits.

Chelsea have not lost at HOME under the guidance of  tactician Jose Mourinho (74 games) and hold they hold the best form on HOME games this season with 18-W, 2-D, 0-L from 14 games (38 points). Of those 14 games, Chelsea have scored an average 2.06 goals per games (29) and conceded an average 0.64 goals per game 0(9). With that being said, playing AWAY from home, no team have earned more points in the Premier League this season than Spurs (29); earning them 9-W, 2-D, 3-L from 14 AWAY games.

Current Form

Although Chelsea is placed 1st in the league table and have not lost a game in their last 6 games, they are placed 2nd in the form guide table behind Liverpool.

Chelsea v Tottenham_fORM

Although the odds favour Chelsea, one should not be so quick to write off Spurs, as they have in their possession an excellent marks man (Emmanuel Adebayor) who in turn has a pretty good record against Chelsea (he has scored in 3 of his last 4 Premier League starts against Chelsea) and more so he has been in fine form lately (haven scored 7 in his last 6 premier League Apperance).
